What is Microneedling?

Over time, the structure of your skin changes: fine lines appear, blemishes leave visible marks, pores appear larger, and your skin may look uneven overall.

Even after inflammatory acne or changes in pigmentation, the skin can stay affected longer than you’d like.

Microneedling is a non-surgical method in which the skin is treated with an electronically controlled needling device. Very fine needles glide evenly over the skin and give small, gentle impulses.

Treatment

At Derma Medical Clinic, microneedling is performed using an electronically controlled needling device. Fine needles move precisely over the surface of the skin.

These tiny needles stimulate skin renewal in targeted areas – imperfections like acne marks, large pores or small scars often appear where the skin has not fully regenerated.

Microneedling gives focused impulses that help form new skin cells in those areas, while hardened or discolored spots gradually fade.

The impulses are carefully placed, at a consistent depth and tailored to your skin’s needs.

Common Microneedling Applications:

  • Supportive treatment for acne scars and acne marks
  • Treating fine lines and early wrinkles
  • Smoothing visible pores or rough skin texture
  • Balancing skin discoloration or a blotchy complexion

After the treatment, mild redness or swelling may occur, usually going away within a short time. Depending on the skin’s condition, microneedling can be done as a single session or in a series.

How long does the effect last?

Visible results depend on your individual skin type, treatment depth, and how many sessions are recommended.
Many patients choose a series of treatments spaced out over time to support long-term results.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions About Microneedling

What exactly is microneedling?

Microneedling is a non-surgical treatment that uses tiny needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. These stimulate the skin’s natural healing and renewal processes—useful, for example, with acne scars, fine lines, or enlarged pores.

What is the treatment process like at Derma Medical Clinic?

After a detailed skin analysis, your skin is prepared and numbed. Then, our skin therapist treats the selected area using an electronically controlled needling device. A soothing skin care application completes the session.

What skin concerns can microneedling help with?

Microneedling is commonly used for acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines, patches of pigmentation, or uneven skin texture. We will clarify in a personal consultation whether this treatment is suitable for you.

What does a skin therapist do, and how is this different from a beautician?

A skin therapist (medical aesthetician) specializes in the care and treatment of skin concerns like acne, rosacea, or pigmentation. Unlike a traditional beautician, she works closely with dermatologists and uses modern techniques and medically approved products. At Derma Medical Clinic, every treatment is performed by a qualified skin therapist and tailored to your skin type and condition.

How long does it take to see results?

Visible changes can appear within a few weeks. Since skin renews over time, results often develop gradually. Depending on your skin, multiple sessions may be helpful.

How many microneedling sessions do I need?

In many cases, we recommend a series of 3–6 treatments, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. The number varies depending on your skin and treatment goals.

Is microneedling painful?

Your skin is numbed before the treatment so that most people tolerate microneedling well. Sensitive individuals may feel a mild pressure.

What should I keep in mind after the treatment?

In the first few days after treatment, protect your skin from sun, strong skincare products, or friction. Mild redness or swelling is possible right after and usually fades within 1–2 days.
