Detecting changes before they become noticeable

Many skin changes develop slowly and initially cause no symptoms. This is precisely why careful follow-up monitoring is recommended. With FotoFinder, an AI total body scanner, we can systematically document your skin and compare previous images with current ones during later examinations.
Even minimal deviations are detectable. Our specialists also examine suspicious findings with a dermatoscope.

Who benefits most from regular skin checks?

We recommend regular checks, especially for those with numerous moles, individual skin changes, or a history of skin cancer. Also for very fair skin, a family history of skin diseases, and high UV exposure – whenever there is an increased risk of skin cancer.

Digital documentation provides a decisive advantage: the development of individual skin areas can be tracked very precisely over various periods of time.

Procedure

Initial Consultation & Diagnosis

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about skin cancer screening

What is a FotoFinder AI total body scanner?

During the FotoFinder examination, your skin is systematically photographed from head to toe, digitally analyzed, and documented. During later check-up appointments, we can compare current and previous images. Changes or new pigmentations can thus be detected precisely and at an early stage.

Why is skin cancer screening so important?

Skin cancer and its precursors usually develop without symptoms at first. Not every change is easily recognizable to laypeople. With regular specialist checks, we detect new changes and can treat them as early as possible.

How does skin cancer screening work at Derma Medical Clinic?

After a personal consultation with our specialists, your skin is dermatologically examined and then digitally documented with FotoFinder. During follow-up appointments, we compare the documented results. Suspicious skin areas are additionally examined dermoscopically. Further diagnostic steps follow if necessary.

For total body photography, the skin should be as visible as possible. If you have noticed new or changed moles or other suspicious skin areas yourself, please point them out to our specialists during your appointment.

How often should I have skin cancer screening?

The appropriate check-up interval depends primarily on your personal skin cancer risk and previous findings. For numerous or suspicious moles, a family history, or a previous occurrence of skin cancer, we may recommend more frequent checks.

Can the FotoFinder (AI total body scanner) detect skin cancer itself?

We use FotoFinder to support skin cancer screening. Skin changes are digitally documented, and current images are compared with previous ones. This makes it easier to detect changes in the skin. However, the medical assessment and diagnosis are always performed by our specialists.

What happens if a mole is suspicious?

Suspicious skin areas are first examined more closely with a dermatoscope. Depending on the findings, a further follow-up check may be sufficient, or a tissue sample or complete removal for histological examination may be recommended.

Can I reduce my risk of skin cancer myself?

Consistent UV protection is the most important prevention. For example, suitable sun protection, protective clothing, and avoiding intense UV exposure whenever possible. In addition, it is advisable to observe your own skin and have any changes evaluated by a dermatologist.
